#ABCsOfMe "C" is for "CAN" You didn't need a drum machine if Jaki Liebezeit was in your band. He was the pivotal focus of the original "Mensch Maschines". Metronomic perfection & repetitious ( but in a magnificent way) to hypnotise & seduce.
Their "sound"...How on Earth do you describe it? Well, tribal, menacing,....almost voodoo-like. It was predominantly about drums, bass & rhythm and it sure was heavy! Which is why Lydon, Wobble, The Slits, Mark E. Smith & Joy Division all fell under it's spell.
And live, they were a wonder to behold. A communal musical brain, each member instinctively knowing where to lead the others during their epic workouts.
