Having 'defaulted' (euphemism for failed) in attaining the full complement of qualifications required to study English at Uni in 1976, I decided to give it one last fling, by attending Langside College. This establishment had been an Institute for the profoundly deaf, in an earlier incarnation. It still appeared to attract certain disadvantaged types, namely those like me, who'd farted around WAY too much in 6th year school, for their own educational fulfillment. So my Uni future rested on achieving some measure of success in Economics, at which I turned out to be er, crap. Admittedly, I had two appalling lecturers, but in fairness to them, Eddie the Exogenous Economics Expert could have been lecturing and my wee brain wouldn't have sparked enough to start a fire in a thimble. So, rather than subject an exam marker to my inane ramblings, I left before the third paper & went for a belting fish supper & in the background, was this corker. There are advantages in being a village idiot...   64

This is a lovely memory for me. This band hailed from Stafford where I live, indeed I knew the lead, Colin Cooper, he had an amazing gravelly voice. Sadly, he died from cancer in 2008, but the band, like all good bands plays on. When this song was first released the band were still called Hipster Image...I've not listened to it in a long time. #hopeyoulikeit   10
