“Thirty years ago today, Ronnie James Dio's new band Dio released their debut album, Holy Diver, giving us 41:36 of start-to-finish metal classics. I'm a little biased here because I'm an enormous Dio fan, but I think it would be fair to say that the entire metal landscape was changed by this album, and that the genre would not be the same if it weren't for Mr. Dio's contributions over the years. I've often felt that Vivian Campbell, who played guitar on this album, is sorely underrated. Just listen to the solid riffage on this track, or go check out Rainbow In The Dark, and prepare to get blown away. As a side-note, watch the video if you've ever wondered why I insist on grabbing a sword whenever I sing Dio.”
