If you want to pinpoint the exact moment I became an ELO fan for life, it's the moment I heard the chorus of this song on a used cassette tape of their 1976 album A New World Record that my mother leant me. It absolutely blew me away, and I set about hunting down the rest of their catalog. Jeff Lynne is a musical demigod, and deserves a statue in the hallowed halls of Mount Rock.
Favorite song off of "A New World Record"... arguably more relevant now than when it was recorded (1976) and just as gorgeous. "How's Life on Earth?"
