Rips is the debut album from Ex Hex (Mary Timony's newest band) and it arrived in the post earlier this week. I quite enjoy the old school video (created by M Wartella). This is a rocking little record and I suspect that I'll begin my usual dig through Ms Timony's extensive back catalog. Be sure and pay attention to the people who get zapped by the flying saucer as they include Francy Z Graham, Alec MacKaye, Michelle Mae and Kid Congo Powers.

I was pretty crushed when Wild Flag split up, but with Sleater-Kinney reforming and Mary Timony starting this kick ass rock and roll band, I'm beginning to feel alright with it. Seriously, every song on this album is ridiculously catchy.
