Gene Pitney, man... No, it isn't very pretty what a people without pity can do.   4

there is a really bitter tone to this song, its full of emotion & regret & disgust, which makes it so awesome.   1

Why they never let Gene do a Bond Theme is beyond me...   2

Sheryl Crow's Bond song 'Tomorrow Never Dies' always reminds me of this old Gene Pitney track

This is such a sleazy arrangement but I love it, and I've always loved Gene Pitney's slightly hysterical tone and range ... If I can, I might try to fit this song into the B.G. of a scene in my 'Adventures in Paradise' screenplay ... 'How can anything survive/ When these little minds tear you in two/ What a town without pity can do/ How can we keep love alive/ How can anything survive/ When these little minds tear you in two/ What a town without pity can do/ No, it isn't very pretty what a town without pity can do'   10
