“A story I've bored folk with before but around 1979 I bought my first jazz albums. Four in the first batch, from Piccadilly Records in Manchester. Amongst them Africa Brass volume two by John Coltrane. The album had only come out a couple of years earlier (and probably was a dubious Italian release) the master takes appeared on Impulse in 1961. Anyway this is the track that fried my teenage brain. Enjoy.”
