This Lonely Love by Juliana Hatfield

“I dreamed I was in a cornball comic book movie with a lot of superheroes in it, and I was one of them, but I wasn't a top tier superhero. I don't even remember my superhero name, I was that unimportant. I was taking orders from other more important superheroes and we were saving lives and taking down these killer robots. I was doing okay. My abilities weren't exciting. I was boosting teammates and weakening enemies from a distance. Couldn't get in close combat, but the others were very thankful and complimentary. I thought they were just being polite. Then a large green skinned heroine chatted me up and invited me to her place after the fight and clean up for "drinks." She showed me that though she was tough and strong on the outside, she was soft and vulnerable on the inside, and Suzanne Vega's "Left of Center" was playing as the dream ended and I woke up. I already posted Vega's "The Queen and the Soldier" earlier this year, so I'm jamming this song instead.”

This was the single but I could have picked almost any track from How To Walk Away, JH's most polished and complete album, full of great melodies and crushing lyrics... "I finally wised up but the fact remains, I stayed too long..."
