UK hip hop isn't exactly my scene, but that's the genre this talented storyteller has chosen, and she's worth listening to. For most of her debut album, her sharp observations focus too much on drinking and dating for my particular tastes. "Circles," on the other hand, uses clever wordplay to delve into Tempest's own foibles. It's a departure I enjoy.
Some mornings I need to dance.
I go 'round in circles
Not graceful not like dancers
Not neatly not like compass and pencil
More like a dog on a lead going mental
