The Leanover by Life Without Buildings

“This is, in my opinion, the most beautiful piece of music ever written & Sue Tompkins' vocals still give me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Life Without Buildings were a Glasgow, Scotland based indie rock band. The band, mostly ex-students of the Glasgow School of Art, formed during the summer of 1999. The band initially consisted of Will Bradley (drums), Chris Evans (bass) and Robert Johnston (guitar). Sue Tompkins (vocals) joined later that year. Sue's talk-sung vocals eventually became the band's most famous attribute.”

Post-punk out of Glasgow (2000). Band is named after a Japan B-side. Terrible shame the band called it quits after only one album.   6
