Thousands On A Raft by Pete Brown & Piblokto!

“As well as lovin' prog, I do love ma' coffee. I am an unabashed coffee-ist. To combine both, is my nirvana. During my financial days, I nurtured a love of the bean in a wee place called Seattle Coffee Company. Damn it, I could glance out my 5th floor window & see that liquid gold being prepared. So I spent a lotta' time there. Like many great places, Seattle was sold to the Dark Empire (Starbucks, to some). However, 3 great lads from there, opened up their own gaff and my java world made sense again. The twist though, was that this caffeine emporium, became a prog/rock influenced zone & as t'internet was in full schwing, the boys were uncovering all manner of 70s goodies, introducing the old guy (me) to a whole new (old) cast. One such, was Pete Brown. Although this track is from 1970, I wouldn't have uncovered it in my progskooldays, as there would probably have been about one copy of the album in Glasgow. So thank you boys, java & internet. Without all three, I may have missed out...”
