Goodbye-ee... by Pete & Dud

“Well, I didn't see that one coming. Rather like a rubbish ITV comedy, we're being axed after a relatively short run. There was I too, labouring under the misapprehension that I'd have plenty of time to infrequently Jam, before shuffling off to Mrs Miggins Home for the Completely Incapable. This very morning, I heard a brilliant line from an old Frasier episode, that summed up how I saw my TIMJ future. It went..."perhaps your judgment was clouded by your desire to see old age not as a time of inevitable decline, but as a time when one's childhood passions & fantasies can be reborn." Alas, it is not to be. So, as the chill wind of time blows up the kilt of destiny & the short-sighted octopus of fate attempts to mount the bagpipes of eternity, I bid you all, my Jammy chums, a cheery hoots mon. Ye'll tak the high road & I'll tak the low road. Thanks for all the camaraderie, the groovy sounds, the laughs & the teary bits. To quote the late John Le Mesurier, "It's all been rather lovely"...”

Well, what can I say when so many others have said it so much more eloquently. I look forward to more music, warmth & love on GJB, or wherever. Meanwhile, I leave it to the sensational Cook & Moore to sum it all up. TTFN :)   11
