The Beatles had been playing this Buddy Holly cover at their gigs since their very early days. All of the band were big Holly fans, but this was the only one of his songs to be recorded by them. "Words Of Love" was first released in the UK on the "Beatles For Sale" album released in '64. This BBC recorded, live version features John and George on vocals, which is how they performed it live, whereas the original album version features mainly John & Paul.
