What I probably was listening to most this week...10 years ago (Part 2). I can't put myself totally into Stephin Merritt's shoes here, but regardless of circumstance, this is one of my favorite "pre-breakup" songs. I've heard it covered by women, too, for what that's worth. It appears on The Magnetic Fields' I (one of my favorite album titles, too). Frankly, I'd rather hear this over Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know." (Album released May 4, 2004)
