itskerryc’s jam on 20 Feb ’13 and then once after that (See all)

“30 Days to Suez. The combined AIF and NZEF (to become known as ANZAC) sailed from King Georges Sound, Albany, West Australia for Alexandria, Egypt, on 1st November, 1914. The convoy of 28 Australian and 10 NZ ships was protected by 2 Australian, 1 British, and 1 Japanese cruiser. On the Arawa were my grandfather and his two younger brothers; troopers in QAMR the Wellington Mounted Rifle regiment. All were wounded during the next four years but survived. [I have jammed this song previously. Written by Nick Cave I felt that this video adaptation portraying a collaboration of Australian and NZ artists to promote the Sydney Opera House, fits my theme best. I prefer this version over all others. Neil Finn, Kev Carmody & Australian Ballet, Sarah Blasko, John Bell, Angus & Julia Stone, Paul Kelly & Bangarra Dance Theatre, Teddy Tahu Rhodes & Opera Australia, Martha Wainwright, Katie Noonan & The Sydney Symphony, The Temper Trap, Daniel Johns & the Australian Chamber Orchestra.]”
