“Back to Tool—one of my favorite tracks of theirs ever (and a cover, too, so twice as much of awesomeness!).
Rober Fripp of King Crimson said in 2003 an interview with Barry Cleveland:
‘I happen to be a Tool fan. The members of Tool have been generous enough to suggest that Crimson has been an influence on them. Adam Jones asked me if I could detect it in their music, and I said I couldn’t. I can detect more Tool influence in King Crimson, than I can hear King Crimson in Tool.’
Not that they actually need it, but does personal endorsement get cooler than this? Kinda equivalent of god saying, personally (or, more likely, miraculously making it appear carved in stone, or something): ‘Man, they’re awesome, I like them.’”
