The Gates of Delirium by Yes

“What a time the #70s were! Roger Dean covers, great logos, fantasy escapes to middle earth (or anywhere that wasn't under the cold war threat and petrol rationing). Flared, frayed hem blue jeans & airforce coats, college notes in gasmask bags, rugby shirts with popped collars, long hair, patchouli oil & incense sticks & damp desert boots. Howe at the top of his game - the most singular & weirdly influenced & influential guitar possible ever, man. Bruford & White, Wakeman & Moraz, ah! Squire too. Probably least of all is wee Jon, sounding like a castrated chipmonk from a posh cathedral school, a voice so high your brain can filter it out to allow the beauty & wonder of this band. Yes copied no-one, no-one could copy Yes. The 1st time I heard this, I hated it & didn't understand it. It was foreign, but once familiarity was established, it began to make sense, have structure, it began to earworm its way into the brain, to excite & reward, to amaze & amuse. #progrock at its finest. Enjoy.”

Unpopular opinion, sure, but to me this is Yes' magnum opus.
