Ah! That is an awesome poster. Have you seen the Cornell Hip Hop flyer collection?! I love that site. http://rmc.library.cornell.edu/hiphop/flyers.html

@Han ^ They archived it properly!

Such a great song. I also love Turn On Your Love Light and Don't Cry No More. They have an unusual island vibe going on with the horns.
ssolo985
@monisaurus I didn't know this site at all. Great stuff. Thanks!
ssolo985
@bobbytreetops Yes, know it well... Have actually already jammed "36-22-36". Love it, especially the line: "My girl can be tied, but she can't be beat."
ssolo985
@dabneylee Agree... He did mix up instrumentation and styles. All his stuff did well on the R&B charts, but, sadly, he never gained much mainstream success.
dabneylee
@ssolo985 True dat. But he is not the only one. Have you ever listened to Howard Tate, Willie Hutch or James Carr? If not I can make recs.
ssolo985
@dabneylee Sure, know them all. Have jammed James Carr in the past. There are so many great ones -- Arthur Alexander, O.V. Wright, Little Ron Johnson -- that never made it big, but luckily that li'l thing called the internet reminds us of how wonderful they all were...
dabneylee
@ssolo985 O.V. Wright - "The River Song" Just...Wow! is all I can say. James Carr is like the Otis Redding that never was.
