Was on their guest list at an early UK gig when I was working on a local newspaper. However, I forgot that I used a pseudonym for my writing (Bob Bell; I liked the everyman feel of it). Course I gave me real name at the door and the scary bouncer said (of course) you ain't on the list, now fuck off.
@simonp If it was their first UK tour you probably lucked out. That must've been a spectacular train wreck. Luckily I saw them on their second tour, at which point they were a somewhat competent live band...
@thisismymistake it was their second uk tour - I missed them in support of Throwing Muses too. On the occasion I describe they were supported by Wolfgang Press - another band regularly featuring in Matthew's countdown.
