Have you heard Pete Townshend's version? It's acoustic and it is fantastic. The story goes that he and David Gilmour were sitting around Pete's house trying to play this and they couldn't figure out the chord progression. Evidently Townshend called Dave Wakeling, explained the situation and asked for the chords. He then told Wakeling how much he loved it and ended up recording it. The recording sounds like a demo that belongs on a Scoop installment.
Oh man, am I glad you told me where to find that song! No wonder I knew it so well. I couldn't recall ever owning Special Beat Service but was mystified how I knew that song so well. It is on Deep End Live and I forgot that it even existed! I'm breaking out that album right now!

I also love how there appears to be about 50 people in the band.

It does look chaotic on that stage. I love the addition of the two string players, a nice touch for a live gig.

@AheadByEcho Oh yes, I've heard it and dug it for years! I first heard him do it on the Deep End Live album.
