Very much underrated. For me an iconic song!

I always liked to think he was singing 'Underpants!' *snigger*

@jaxxon yes we used to sing that too. @AlicejustMay another fave in our family home. Really reminds me of my brother. There's no one driving....and here's Gary Numan !

I've got The Mighty Boosh 'Electro' episode playing in my head now.

I always like to imagine he's saying "Underpants!"

@jaxxon @tijuana_brass Well thanks a lot, you too - now that's all I can hear too! Which consequently makes me think of the Abba song Chiquitita, whose lyrics - "You'll be dancing again and the pain will end" sounded to me just like "You'll be dancing once again like a painted hen".

@Bukowski Never really watched The Mighty Boosh... might have to now :)

AlicejustMay

@PartyTearsFew What a shame you can't play it - especially as it evokes - I'm guessing - happy thoughts of your brother?

@dutchzaphod Iconic indeed. Think he went back to being a graphic designer.

@AlicejustMay He's still at it! Rhapsody is an album recorded live in the studio by John Foxx And The Maths (2013). http://youtu.be/wm-wPmE0Ju4

Oooh, might be time to re-watch some Mighty Boosh! @AlicejustMay @abigail.deeks is quite right, a must watch—it's quite mental. Not that I'm saying anything about you...

7 years, 8 months ago

AlicejustMay

@fsohail I think 'mental' would be a fair comment...

It's odd, and quite a bit unfair, how little attention he gets by the retro-electronica acts today...

@AlicejustMay we are all with The Mighty, go see - and also Flight of the Concords. Re John Foxx - Not to worry, I found it on youtube, plus got to my laptop and it all worked fine. Sorry if it sounded :/ but brother still here hurrah! Just I hardly ever see him, and every time we do meet this song is mentioned (I kid you not).

When I was studying art at Leeds Polytechnic, Dennis Leigh, (his real name) was a part-time art tutor. He was a lovely guy. I believe he later became a full time head of department for some time there while he was in retirement from music. It's good he's now back recording and touring. A few years ago I saw him give a talk and play live his ambient style music accompanying old films he'd edited together at the Duke of Yorks Cinema in Brighton. A very talented man, who enjoys a pint of beer.
