Although I'm none the wiser other than that all this grammar is all very well, it should be 'Song For Whomever' but from what I can gather there is an aesthetic aspect to all of this which means you can do whatever you like as long as it looks good and contains an element of "poetic licence"; this sis becoming phooey!

One of the lyrics I hate most in the world was inflicted on us by Paul McCartney where he sings 'this world in which we live in' - a line that makes my toes curl. Just thought of another one. Paul Simon singing: " I wish I was homeward bound" Shouldn't it be "were" instead because I believe "was" should be used in the context of actually DOING it instead of "wishing"...................God! I've confused myself now, Help!!

I'll tell you what makes me MAD, it's when lyrics use "you and I" at the end of a line for rhyming purposes, when it's in the grammatical accusative and should therefore be "you and me". Argh! *punches someone at random*
