@BarneyRubble I agree with you, Sir. I can even recall the Tribe Called Quest one. Used to date a guy who was BIG into hip hop back in the day. I remembered it last night. Was telling @d0minic about it last night. It was actually De La Soul. It's a good 3 minutes in like. Ahh, memories: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2aJZZumrITI
@BarneyRubble@d0minic Hip hop seems so tame back then, doesn't it. But softer. In a good way.,'ore melodic. Enjoyed listening to that again actually. Remember being told at the time that a "buddy" was someone you were having sex with. One line "A meat tasting buddy is the perfect way to spend the day..." Haha... oh my! Maybe not so tame after all!!! Yowsers! :-)

@An_Irish_Brit That's ok, I don't usually get many emails :-( so this has kinda made my day. I'm listening to those lyrics with a whole new perspective now
@An_Irish_Brit no problem, a lot of people find they have to repeat what they said to me and then ten minutes later I'll repeat back what they said as if I'd thought it up myself. The funny thing is I have no idea why I do it.
Soft, dreamy... reminds me of the early 70s and a brown nylon bomber jacket that I was inordinately proud of which, in retrospect, made me look like a choux bun.
On further investigation (has nothing to do with her being "pleasing on the eye" obviously). I do remember "That's the Way of the World". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jG_V0FnBeQ But, I'm liking everything I've heard so far. Ta!!
@AlicejustMay . . .was it one of those shiny 'satin look' ones - I had one in a very deep blue - I think a lot of that gear was a bit shite - I've got some shocking photos - not to mention the hair!! At least we didn't have the ridiculous 'let's show our pants' style of jean wearing though.
@lindatee Satin sounds nice. Funky. And deep blue is very flattering. Bet you looked great. We need to see those hair pictures though Linda. Definitely. Next '70s Jam you post. DO IT.
@lindatee I like your avatars. Current one is great. You've teased us with talk of bad hair pics though. Now we're GAGGING to see them. Gagging! Aren't we @AlicejustMay? Aren't we?
@An_Irish_Brit Maybe @lindatee and me are the same person - I had incredibly bad hair at the time, too. And yes, it was a shiny satinette jacket. God, how fabrics have been transformed by the advent of lycra etc. I wore my bomber with beige jumbo cords (choux bun, choux bun) which bagged at the knee as soon as you moved in them. In fact, they only really worked for the first thirty seconds after you put them on straight from the ironing board. Gaaah.
@AlicejustMay I had some big wide loons and even after I stopped walking the loons would still carryimg on swinging as if you were! They had a ridiculously high waistband with three buttons!!! At least everyone else was looking that bad too!
Thanks for all the jams and for following me. I am sorry that I couldn't follow everyone - I have found following 70 people a struggle but I do play and like a lot, even so. Maybe see you on letsloop.com when the Titanic does go down. Until then #GoingDownJamming - it has been lots of fun xx

Her main comparison from the original version would be with Clarence Burke Jr., the lead singer. I think she does it brilliantly. Great jam
