Amazing film. I was 18 when it came out and saw it when I was on winter break from college. A few years after that, i had the honor of hearing Dith Pran speak at my university.
I saw that movie in a hostel in Phnom Penh - very hard to take so close to the scene. It was also strange to hear all the Tuk-Tuk drivers enthusiastically touting "Killing Fields, Killing Fields", trying to draw customers. Had to wonder what was going on in their minds, in their heart of hearts, as they catered to the curious Westerners in order to make a living...war tourism is really not something I can get behind.
