A few days ago I attended a concert at a hall that had just been renovated. The orchestra performed the program from the inaugural concert in the 1920s including the discontinued practice of performing a single movement from a symphony. You guessed it: the movement was the largo from Dvořák's warhorse ninth symphony. Excellent jam!
Lovely music as usual from Dvořák. I often wish I could go back in time and cheer him up though, judging by the few image impressions I've ever seen of him. There can't have been THAT many "bad photo opportunity days" in his life - surely?
