Tony Wilson was the manager of the band and was influenced by the ideas of The Situationist International. One of their key documents was a cartoon strip called The Return of the Durruti Column - named after the leading Anarchist militant Buenaventura Durruti. Somewhere along the line Tony Wilson changed the spelling! What all that had to do with Vini Reilly's sublime guitar intrumentals is anyone's guess!
