Probably my favourite claim to fame of all time was being contracted by the Feelgood's Promoters to stand on stage behind Wilko's speaker stack and physically hold it all together to stop the cabinets dropping onto the stage at a gig in Portsmouth, UK in 1976.
This lineup; I was THIS {} close to Wilko.
Thought nothing of it until many years later. Why didn't we have camera-phones in the 70s?
Ah shucks, @BarneyRubble.
I was part of the venue stage crew (hence that duty), so we were all backstage, but likely working to get the gear in and then out. Truth be told, I don't remember but I'm sure we all spoke...

jmmcleod
have they any original members???
BarneyRubble
@jmmcleod None of the originals that are in this clip. Bass and drums from Lee Brilleaux's time Wilco's replacement mark II.
JAM_ChrisM
One of my favourites. I remember seeing Wilko Johnson playing with the Blockheads and being totally transfixed.
BarneyRubble
@JAM_ChrisM Sadly no Wilco in the version of the band I saw, hoping to see him sometime soon.

@fatuous That is a definite claim to fame. Did you get a chance to chat to the band?

Flippin' brilliant. Saw them loads of times in the '70's, such an amazing band. Glad the current line up still puts on a good show!
BarneyRubble
@andypritchard I only saw them once back in the day, but the current line-up are still doing the old songs justice.
H185MAN
Saw them twice circa 76-77 - unequalled...
BarneyRubble
@H185MAN That's roughly when I saw them too. Great gig
allymac
Saw them in 77/78 in Embra, Mink deVille as support, great night. Great jam
BarneyRubble
