I was a real latecomer for getting into the Black Keys but now I have, I can't get enough. (From 'El Camino', right? I think they have a new album out now )
@decarter I feel fortunate because all things WHITE STRIPES and BLACK KEYS is new to me...remember when you were still hearing some of the classics for the first time?...that's how I feel with much of today's music and I love it
@BladeRunner Oh! btw, the Mexico game last night was a bit of a nail-biter, wasn't it?...Phew!! Never mind, you're still certain to qualify ( I think they're still a bit nervous at the moment ) & I reckon you're saving your best 'til last :)
Don't be so certain. So far the only real soccer we have seen was by Holland and Germany...Costa Rica played well... but really nobody else. By the way great Jam.
@decarter yes, this one's from El Camino - great album! I came across the band around 2009 and was like WOW! Though I'm still digesting on the latest album 'cause it's sooo different, and I kinda like more their traditional work. (I hope they don't change much)
@alisonsghost huahuahuahua, you're great!!! I'm always up for a good game (even if it means to give a little nudge) and that's what England and Italy gave us last saturday! It was a great game!
@gnoinc @decarter Have to agree with you Nicolas! Yesterday's game showed some big deficiencies on Brazil's side and, so far I haven't seen our team playing the way a winner must play. i believe we will qualify certainly, but brazilians tend to put so much pressure on the team - like their lives depend on it - that may work against it. (most of times, actually). Still, I'm happy i'm not a fanatical! ;)
@gnoinc i think i'm lucky i can enjoy a good match regardless of the team - when we're talking national teams it's really easy for me to be this easygoing, with my club is another story ;) I really hope the best wins, cause there's when we have some great matches!!!
@mloup I'm Atlético Paranaense, o Furacão! The Hurricane! I'm red&black;!!! It's not the team from my hometown, but it was the 1st I watched playing, on their field, fell in love!
@mloup i'll take it as a compliment ;) I totally understand - CAP won that 1st game , but lost many others (it's not a big team) - but there's one thing I love: I've seen my Hurricane beat up Flamengo (Brazil's most beloved team) quite a few times, and it's beautiful!
@BladeRunner Sigh... I know that feeling. I hugely enjoyed Chelsea beating Liverpool in the 70s and 80s (still do, come to that) :) I will now keep an eye out for CAP scores in future
@mloup that what I was afraid of hahaha!!! The "atleticanos" (CAP, CAM) usually are suffererers, we always manage to do something wrong when everything is working just fine, always. Ah, on a happy side note: I was in London when Chelsea won the UEFA 2012, what a party!
@BladeRunner Glad you enjoyed it :) I was fielding (very drunk) phone calls from my former season-ticket friends in Munich later that day that were pure happy incoherence
My favorite song by them.. The first time I saw what the Black Keys looked like, I couldn't believe it was them singing.. I guess I was picturing someone who looks like Iron and Wine. Excellent jam~
@BladeRunner@mloup Great jam - I hope Brasil do well but my prediction for the final is Holland versus Germany still, lots of magnificent footie to come before then! Yeh Chelsea! Willian, Ramires, Luiz & Oscar - terrific goal against Croatia - made up for the wonky penalty award.
@christineb had a good laugh now - I had almost the same reaction as you the 1st time I saw them, though in my mind they were more of a badass, motorcycle band or something! Hey, I'm happy I've picked your favourite =D I love this one! Thanks!
@Axol@mloup Oh thanks! I really hope we have a better performance than the shadow of a team we were against Mexico! On the penalty against Croatia, I was joking around here, it was worth an acting award performance =P! Now for some pride: Ramires was revealed as a pro in my hometown team club, brought tears to our eyes to watch him at Chelsea and make again the National Team! On Holland and Germany... well I think you have a good bet here!!! Both are fierce!
@Sid_Bonkers I'm happy I picked one of your faves! It really reminds a lot of Starway to Heaven, and it gets stuck in my brain just like StH does!!! :)
@mloup it's a tough one... 'cause Hulk is so beloved by the public, so there's even more pressure on Ramires... (As if there wasn't pressure enough already). But I'm sure he's gonna get his game together after WC.
@BladeRunner I really love the Black Keys' sound, it's a great rock experience :) The Black Lips too, it's kind of a similar vibe (but distinct sonority ) and name, so I tend to associate them.
@Nuno I think I get your point... there's this certain irony for both, isn't it?! Each one in it's own way... I know Black Lips less than Black Keys, but there ares some songs that simply hit the nerve - I like it! ;)
@BladeRunner Yes, both are wild in nature and produce great songs, that's it!
,,,every one here is loving the WC best one in ages,,,,,tons of enthusiasm ,,,,and your boys are looking good,,,,we need brazil in there to keep the vibe happening,,,,really enjoying it,,,,@mloup is im guessing having fun trying to guess the the breakout teams,,,,,,and the sun is shining here ,,what more could a boy want
@kingofmen thank you for such a nice comment - it surely made me smile! It's really being an amazing WC so far isn't it?! So many surprises, energy and goals! and now seems finally brazil team is gettin' their act together - even if we don't make until the final, NOW it's the football we were waiting for!!! (I know @mloup is betting on germany, but i belive more in holland...) Sun is shining here as well, so... happy, happy, happy!

They're amazing (imo) @loboska ! Specially their work until El Camino - where this song is part. Very glad you liked it!

Am intrigued - which club team do you follow?

@BladeRunner That makes sense judging by your avatar :) The first Chelsea game I went to they lost 1-0... but no matter, I was hooked!

@BladeRunner Even more jealous now! I was in Vancouver (emigrated in 2007) so missed all the fun back home in 2012
BladeRunner
@mloup it was pure coincidence, but how not to celebrate along? (specially being it against a german team)
mloup
@BladeRunner Glad you enjoyed it :) I was fielding (very drunk) phone calls from my former season-ticket friends in Munich later that day that were pure happy incoherence

@mloup My CAP was Brazilian Champion once, in 2001. I'm positive no one could understand what I was trying to speak that day!!!

Same as @Sid_Bonkers
BladeRunner
@kingofmen oh yeah... This a pretty powerful one! Love this intensity...

@Nuno it has kinda the same recipe, isn't it? and it doesn't lack the vibe!
