Way back in the late seventies-early eighties or so, in the midst of one of those periodic rockabilly revivals, a cat called Robert Gordon dug up Link Wray and they did a song called a "Red Cadillac and a Black Moustache". I liked it well enough but it wasn't till years later trawling Napster or Rhapsody or some such that I realized it was a cover and that the Warren Smith original was on Sun. Now Warren is best known for "Ubangi Stomp", a song long past pronounced racist and outre by the pc brigade, but which I think is a hoot, so I gave this one a listen. ‘Cause you know, it’s on Sun, dammit. And it's a long way from Ubangi Stomp.   12
