#Top31Tracksof2014: Ought exploded onto my radar this year with their absolutely fantastic debut album "More Than Any Other Day". Like a cross between The Fall and Talking Heads, their complexly simple instrumentals combined with frontman Tim Beeler's hilarious yet poignant, carefully rehearsed stream-of-consciousness lyrics are a musical contradiction that works totally and that I can't get enough of. However, the song of theirs that I dig the most is this re-recording of a demo from their 2011 EP. The central riff is super catchy, the lyrics are hilarious yet paint a vivid picture of a hipster party, and it's so much fun that its 7 minutes just fly by. I really hope these guys become big to some kind of degree, because they deserve success! #bestof2014   1

Ought is where it's at. They're an acquired taste, with lyrics that make you go "LOL!" then "hmm." If you like a laissez faire approach to punk, you'll enjoy Ought. New favorite band at the moment. #ought #postpunk #rock #newmusic #buzzworthy

Recently saw OUGHT live and wow they were simply fantastic, one of the best bands I've seen live this year. Similarities to Talking Heads and Television, with an interesting lead singer and a tight band. A band best experienced live so if you get chance to see them, do it!   2
