Thanks for the link - looking forward to checking it out when I get home. B.o.B earned my respect when I saw his MTV Unplugged special and realized he writes, produces, sings and plays multiple instruments on his albums and he is a good writer, but I just can't get into the overly pop-y sounding stuff like Aeroplanes. I have his first two albums and like a few songs but I feel like he could do a lot better without so much trendy pop production.
Back on the B.o.B subject, it's kind of how I felt about Lupe Fiasco when 'Lasers's was released. I've loved Lupe since I first heard him on Kanye's 'Late Registration', long before he had his own album and I've loved everything he's done except the 'Lasers' album. It has a couple good songs for sure, but it's so pop-y and the production is almost identical to everything else at the time. Later, Lupe himself disowned it, saying the record company pretty much took away his artistic freedom on it.
@shiningsun2k It's okay lol. but yeah i agree rappers can do the pop kinda of feel once in while but sometimes it just doesn't sound right, i guess it depends on the artist. like drake's " Hold On We're Going Home" is kinda upbeat something i never really thought he would do but he sings too. sometimes ppl seem to forget that.
Exactly. And I don't mind upbeat pop music itself; I just don't like it when it sounds like every other pop album at the time. Oh, I'm living 1WayFrank by the way. Downloaded his mixtape too. Thanks again for that. Also, I've been thinking of starting a second page just for hip hop and r&b. I'll probably follow you and let you know when/if I do.
@shiningsun2k No problem. If you plan to make another page yeah just let me and I'll follow you back. Are there other Users on here who post Hip Hop/ R&B? I don't follow that many. Any suggestions who to follow if so?
You're already following a couple of the hip-hop heads I follow, but there's also @LiveAtTheApollo, @frederickpolk and @jesswhiting. I'm sure there are plenty more, but I haven't really looked recently.

@shiningsun2k No problem and True about B.o.B.

Haha that said, there's some seriously pop-y I shamelessly love. I just don't like it in my rap so much.

Whoa, the beat and production on this track are excellent. I have a love/hate relatonship with Bey and this is definitely on the love side.

And now I'll shut up (sorry, I'm way into music and tend to go off sometimes).

Oh, and back on suggestions for people to follow if you like rap & R&B: It would definitely be in your best interest to follow @sandramccarthy.
