“I picked this CD up at a secondhand store along with five other works. Prior to the purchase, I had never heard of My Robot Friend. It is some weird stuff happening, but it just feels so perfectly balanced. My Robot Friend utilizes really great samples for an arrhythmic tempo that, in an instant, can turn speed, meter, or even tone. He is an acquired taste, but given enough listens, one can find good stuff. As for "You're Out Of The Computer", I chose this song for the vocal talents of the late Bingo Gazingo, whose frenetic slam poetry is automated beyond comprehension. People talk about the industrial genre of music, and how bands like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry are the patron saints. However, you would be hard pressed to find a musician more associated with the power of computation than My Robot Friend.”
This jam is special!
