And in at Number 4 is The Day's War, the masterful debut by Lonely The Brave. With the arrival of Royal Blood and their critically acclaimed number 1 album pretty much dominating the UK rock scene this year, Lonely The Brave have sort of slipped under the radar. However for those that managed to unearth the Cambridge quintet's first record, what they would've discovered is an album packed full of assured, rousing rock epics in the vein of Biffy Clyro and, for me at least, the best debut of the year. It is a great sign of things to come and Lonely The Brave will no doubt have a big part to play in the resurgence of UK rock music over the next few years. Key tracks include Trick of the Light, The Blue and The Green and Backroads, which you can enjoy by listening above. Tomorrow, it's the start of the Top 3 so be sure to return!
