300! Awesomeness :)
@timeisnow I thank you x
For S P A R T A
David, I'm enjoying your retrospective on Small Faces. Most of my knowledge of the band is in the Stewart-Wood days, but clearly Steve Marriott made some fine music prior to those guys coming aboard. Great stuff.
Nice...I've never heard this. Great Jam :-)
@kfarrnd thanks Kevin - I reckon I should have enough material to see me through to the last jam....#LongLiveTheJams
@marissapicone thanks Marissa x
@DavidAnderson Did you carry on liking them when they became the Faces etc? Seem like totally different bands to me. The originals were perfect. Another great jam :-)
Although, have just confused myself there! The 1st band seems the best , anyway.
Its often overlooked that Steve Marriott was a terrific guitarist as well as a brilliant vocalist, I may prove that in the days to come when I re jam something I jammed a year or so back ;)
@Sid_Bonkers I shall look forward eagerly to that Sid.
@alisonsghost They were, in effect, two different bands. Marriott having left and formed Humble Pie....and Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood (now a Rolling Stone) joining The Faces. There was a long standing feud between Rod and Marriott .....Steve hated him - Rod having had an affair with Marriotts Mrs. Anyway...to answer.....The Faces done a lot of really good early stuff.....but I will always favour Small Faces x
@DavidAnderson I did read that Stewart and Wood sort of took over, but thanks for the much needed clarification :-)
Ive been looking for a copy of the Steve Marriott biography "All Too Beautiful" but cant find a copy for less than BIG$'s but there is a Kindle version being released on 7th Sept 2015 for £5.60. The paperback edition is £14.99 and comes out 3rd Dec.
@Sid_Bonkers Sid, I have that very book in front of me. A wonderful read (although not particularly well written) - you can borrow it anytime! I also recommend http://www.wappingwharf.com
Hmm.... B side better than t'other side maybe?
@mikelowe I reckon there's a good case for that argument Mike...
Im going to buy a copy maybe the kindle version or the paperback I just dont want to pay £30 for a second hand copy just because its out of print, Im a cheapskate like that ;)
@Sid_Bonkers quite right Sid......I promise you an interesting and fascinating read.
Cool white guys that ever made music. Top stuff.
@kerlmann couldn't agree more!!
