Fellow music nerds: compare with the Richard Hell original (http://vimeo.com/10758426) and the equally great cover by the Loft (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1p1ewtf7TQ). All three are well done, but I especially like this stripped-down acoustic rendition, complete with bongos and Mike Watt's heartfelt butchery of the lyrics and chords (whether intentional or not). Might as well post the lyrics since they're some of my favorites ever (http://www.lyricsg.com/51600/richard-hell/time-)

For those unfamiliar with one of the best bands of the 80's-- though anyone who's seen the intro to Jackass has heard their song "Corona"-- here are some more of their finest moments (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xYHzC_yYTk, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrQdvkScdoo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj3-0yYSqEo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwTcgJXoA1c, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5f-NvWTf9Y).

Also, this documentary is a great introduction (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmKGusadv08). Much appreciation for those who have supported; approaching 600 followers feels good. On deck: Archers of Loaf ❖ The Diodes ❖ Shoes ❖ Arthur Russell

@gofuckaduck Appreciate all the work you've put into your 50th, liked Richard Hell version for some time, this version brings something else to the party.

Love these guys... Early 80s was an underappreciated time for music. Real Punk was over but Hardcore was hitting and adjacent to that were the Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, and Minutemen, among many others... Feels like a million years ago...

@SueSkinner many thanks and likewise! @ssolo985 sadly i wasn't alive for any of the 80's, but i otherwise completely agree. thanks to friends, the internet and azerrad's "our band could be your life" the fallacy that the 80's was a horrible decade for music has been completely dispelled for me. @kemiladashdot thanks, and i look forward to your 100th--
