I just read about the new album for the first time a couple days ago and I wasn't expecting to hear a single so soon, but I'm really liking this! I just went on a day-long Manson binge last week for the first time in years and it occurred to me that Antichrist Superstar came out 18 years ago. That's 1996 and 18 years before that was 1978 - a year dominated by the likes of Queen, Meat Loaf and Foreigner. So, relatively speaking, Manson now qualifies as classic rock! Anyone else feel old?

@shiningsun2k I had my 'Hellbilly Deluxe' cd in the car a couple weeks ago and was thinking along these same lines - I will say that the last 20 years have been kinder to Zombie than they have to Manson. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXhLSF97LqM

@shiningsun2k To me one of the most stunning example is about 1. Outside (the great return of David Bowie... I mean his best album for years. A masterpiece) in 1995 (19 years ago. Outch!) This album seems to have been released yesterday to me. Yet, 19 years earlier Bowie has released Station to Station (1976), which is just a piece of history.

@crimsonghost Haha you might be right about that. I was a little shocked six or seven years ago when I came across Manson in Rise: Blood Hunter when I rented it as a new release. The movie nearly bored me to tears, but I woke up when I recognized the dopey redneck bartender and it dawned me it was Manson. I immediately paused to confirm it on the internet. http://youtu.be/J-X_GWOT07c

19 years? Ouch is right! My age doesn't often make me feel old, but I like to torment myself and put things into perspective like "that guy over there drinking legally at the bar wasn't born yet when I bought this album in high school".
