everyone can, on some level, relate to, or remembers once relating to, gordon's lingering childish sexual frustration. his voice is so brilliant because it betrays his every emotion, no matter how dark or perverse. i can't think of a musician, or any artist for that matter, who is more willing to show his naked, ugly self without inhibition.
@btener Well spoken and I never thought of Gano in quite those terms before, but there was a point in my 20's when I related to nearly all of the Femmes' music and 'Gimme the car' totally epitmizes what you're saying regarding the sexual frustration take. Strangely I hadn't listened to them much over the past few years (b/c I'd kinda burned myself out on them) but lately I've been spinning em on the regular.
