A nice bit of syncing here, Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire dancing to the Contours 1966 Twisted Wheel classic. I can't remember how many times we danced to this...dozens I imagine. Joe Stubbs (Levi Stubbs's brother) was in the band shortly. When he left he was replaced by Dennis Edwards, who left also after a while to join The Temptations after David Ruffin had left that group. Many people, me included, thought The Contours were greatly under-rated , never getting the songs to perform at the same rate as The Temptations, Miracles and Four Tops. It was a pity as they were very good. This song however, was written for them, by Smokey Robinson. We get the dance bonus too, how good is that! #TopClassics #Motown
