@MotherFist@christineb It was all about Steve for me. Though I had a poster of them all in loincloths for the "Paint Me Down" single which was, ahem, stimulating.
@debutch@christineb@MotherFist@Astromonkey@philipnareike@desmondbullen for me this was the transition from the late '70's to early '80's. I remember watching TOTP when I was 10yrs old thinking that the music scene had changed dramatically that is everyone was now wearing make-up and tea towels and scarves... Anyway it was the dawn of the New Romantics and I quite liked it! For the record I preferred these to Simon Le Bon's outfit and yes I do quite like the Kemp boys :)
@MadameZia NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually went to see them in 1984. It was ok but the crowd was virtually all screaming women which wasn't much fun really.
@Astromonkey sorry :( But as an aside you know that Martin lives in Ricky - a former colleague of mine drove me around haunts and dwellings of 'famous' people in South West Herts :)
@MadameZia My condolences on the purchase of 'Through the Barricades'. I trust you're much better these days? Plus I've just 'liked' @Floressas final jam, 'Rocket to Uranus' by Vengaboys, and I still don't feel any guilt for judging you x
@Astromonkey@desmondbullen@philipnareike Sorry gentlemen, I didn't tag you in my response to Rowena. Consider me duly chastised. PS Duran Duran pip 'em to the post, just to throw my two penneth in...

@christineb Yum indeed, although I think Gary is getting better with age. Martin was just beautiful back then.

It was all downhill for me after To Cut A long Story Short.
philipnareike
I never relly liked them ...but I quite like this one...a bit... I don't think I'm keen on Hadley's voice, but it's better than Simo Le Bon's
MotherFist
@Astromonkey I know the one you mean.
MotherFist
@desmondbullen For me, it's the singles from the first album and Instinction that resonate.

@philipnareike At school, it was Duran vs. Spandau all the way. I still recall them going head to head on Mike Read's Pop Quiz.
