The Funk Brothers provided amazing backing and by this time Dennis Edwards and Eddie Kendricks at the top end, Otis Williams the mid range, and Paul Williams and Melvin Franklin providing rich bass tones, they were immaculate. Seeing them live was one of the happiest times of my teenage years.
Never heard the whole 12-minute version before - great stuff!
a huge favorite...bliss.
overwhelmed by this bliss;-)
@jovisgoesnuts You surely have a wonderful memory of their performance. I envy you :)
They were probably listened to more than any other group amongst my friends. Loved 'em we did.

Such an easy twelve minutes. Always a pleasure.
What a great song! I especially like the long intro with the shimmering bowed strings and the trumpet through an Echoplex.
BRILLIANT! This was a "game changer" @ Motown wasn't it? I knew this little beauty would come out to play this week and delighted (but not surprised) it was with you :-)
This is one of the best!!!
