Was astounded to hear it used in an ad the other day!
@AlicejustMay it's in an ad? There are far too many great songs in ads these days. Kinda gives a band/artist a bad name.
It's tricky - I used to work in the ad industry, and know only too well how desperate creative departments are to align clients' products with cool music (gaah)... but on the other hand, bands often only do it because they need to make money, especially in a world where their traditional infrastructure has broken down. So I have a lot of sympathy with artists who find it's one of the few guaranteed ways to get some cash to spend on making more music...
As far as I can tell from talking to the lovely ladies in our licensing department... selling music for ads seems to be the main way our bands/our company makes any money!
But I agree, this particular song is too great to be tainted by crass commercialism. One of my absolute favourites of last year...
Moreish like sugar.
@thesunneversets @AlicejustMay totally agree with that just don't like the label they get of sell out just cos they appear on an ad
