When I was a teenager my youth orchestra accompanied the Bootleg Beatles covering this album at the Cliffs Pavillion in Southend. It was also played at home lots as my Dad is a big Beatles fan. This is a gorgeous choice and made me cry performing it back then even before I was a Mum! x x
@simonp@BertrandRustles@christineb@abigail.deeks wow how wonderful xx @MadameZia@Madferrit same for all of us :( When my mum played this I remember feeling so sad and my mum then told me I had good empathy skills, and then explained what that meant. The sadness when hearing it as a parent myself I cannot put into words. I think that's one of the many reasons I adore music. Someone else can do it for me and accompany it with sublime sounds. Thanks and sorry for causing a tear or two :)

Sheila Bromberg, the harpist was the first female musician to work with the Beatles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOZUKhkvLMQ and http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/10761166.First_female_musician_to_record_with_The_Beatles_talks_to_Freetime/

Not even thinking that far ahead. But as Iona is only 9, maybe by the end of her teenage years, both parties will be desperate for her to go!

Of course, I totally agree with you about the manner of this particular girl's leaving *shivers*

I haven't heard this in years and it's the first time I've listened to it as a Mum myself...

Oh...wow, also haven't heard in years... So sad, as a Mom, this song really hits home and would have my husband in tears.
