My word Phil, you'd need to be a hard hearted bugger not to have a tear in your eye, watching that. Clearly, I'm not a hard hearted bugger...nice Jam ma' friend... :-)
Yeh, @21schizoid, it's a weird thing, but I don't think of it in a sad way. I heard it first some time back on late junction and have had the main refrain as an ear worm ever since. I'm not religious, but the words the tramp sings are actually positive, though Gavin Bryars treatment makes it melancholic and of course the video adds to that, though again, they're not actually sad images. Like I said, it's weird! Glad you liked it though, thanks. Just me and you so far, now that is sad. :)
@21schizoid, excuse the faux philosophy, but I find most experiences of life to be had through our internal makeup's, and so, greatly varied. This particularly applies to music.
Thanks @heatherings, welcome to the clique of three! I'm afraid, as example of the above, I don't agree with the lyrics or sentiment, though I do find the lyric refrain hypnotic. Cest la vie :)

@Phyl Just a little too austere for some, I guess. Fantastic to have two different experiences with the same toon, nonetheless... :-)

I found this rather moving. I have to say I agree with the sentiment expressed in the lyric. :-)
