Fancyman Blues by The Rolling Stones

but Solmask was first

The 80s for the Rolling Stones were all feuding, bad vibes and nastiness. The principals sniped and spat, one pointedly ignoring the other when he recorded solo, the other using his record to publicly dress down his erstwhile partner. When they did deign to bury the hatchet, the result was the seriously underwhelming “Steel Wheels”. But, but…..not on the album, hidden away on the B-side of the single, to be found on jukeboxes in dive bars only, was “Fancy Man Blues”. On hearing the playback, Bill Wyman thought it was some obscure Jimmy Reed cover, the Stones channeling their bad vibes and nastiness into the blues. But the blues was all their own.   28
