I used to love The Smiths...but as the years have gone by, the more and more I think Morrissey is just a complete twat...which kind of tarnishes my memories and enjoyment
@rosspepperell I have this conflict a lot. I guess it's possible to love music yet hate the artist behind it. But you draw your own lines. Morrissey's views are fairly ambiguous and, for me, don't interfere with my enjoyment. But so many great tunes are rendered unlistenable by offensive lyrics or video, almost always down to normalised misogyny in the music industry. Doesn't seem to affect sales though. See prime nob heads Chris Brown and Robin Thicke and about a trillion others.
