I've always found Laura Nyro's music to be an aquired taste which didn't particularly appeal to me...that is until the last five years when I "discovered" her . I bought her 5 CD box set and I must say that I feel a similarity of her music to Todd Rundgren's ( well, some of the time..)
@debutch agreed. i'm a little late to her party too. her style wouldn't have appealed to me in my past, but i'm really digging her now. @marissapicone seems she was a songwriter whose work had more success in other people's hands. 5D is just the tip of that iceberg. Many artists covered her songs and were inspired by her.
OMG, I'd forgotten this and how good it is.
I'm ancient enough to remember its release and enjoyed it then.
Still good and so thanks for reminding/reintroducing me.

I have never heard this sung by her. I was only familiar with The 5th Dimension cover of it. Gotta say I like this one better :-)
