my first walkman was a pillar box red Boots own brand one. I dropped it whilst wigging out to 'Eruption' by Van Halen and broke the door thingy off it, Still got 6 months use out of it thanks to a thick elastic band.
@d0minic mine was a Sanyo MG12 (cheaper than the Sony Walkman) and I used to play it on the 90 min bus journey to and from school in Hong Kong. Black Sabbath and Deep Purple mainly!
Ah, memories of broken cassette doors! - I had a beatbox thing where when you pushed eject the whole door kind of blasted off and you had to wedge it back on with the tape lodged inside. It was like that for years!
@d0minic I could do #walkmanjam but it'd pretty much be a choice between Bananarama and Belinda Carlisle. Not sure fellow jammers would really appreciate that :)
@andybartlett - I know what you're saying, but I could never give up the vinyl totally. MP3s are great for travelling, but if you're at home, nothing quite like the ritual around putting a record on.

Music is just too easy now! All those skills lost - no dues to pay, no heads or needles to defluff, nothing to flip over..!! Oh, nice jam Abigail

Being myself such a big fan of Eurythmics, this is the song I like the least. Despite that, Eurythmics <3456789...

@abigail.deeks and always a Bic biro on hand for a quick rewind/FF?

This is one of my favourite Eurythmic tracks by a mile - Happiness was definitely a warm Walkman :)
erin_o
obviously a bit late with the BIC biro memories... thanks @fsohail & @MadameZia for getting there first... ;-) Great tune! Brings back the memories!!
d0minic
@erin_o that's what the bic pen was invented for @MadameZia / yes that happened to me too! @Trought4TheDay // I think #WalkmanJam theme is in order. Yes?
