I was too young for this to mean much to me (about 11), as I'd never had a *real* girlfriend to break up with. What strikes me about this video is how they've somehow excluded all images of Brian Jones and Bill Wyman in the finished article. Mick and Keith slip the director a £50 pound note or some stash? ;)
It meant less to me @leejohnson I was 1 at the time. Little Red Rooster was No1 the week I was born in 1964, a fact that has always meant something to me since I found it out.
@adrian4acn@leejohnson @mark_ward When this record came out in the Netherlands I was 9 years old and from what I remember from that time is mainly Beatles songs as I didn't own a record player myself for pop music I relied on some older cousins who were in the Fab Four camp Even when I was twelve I seem remember there were "Great Divides" music and soccer wise. I was in the Beatles/Ajax camp not the Stones/Feyenoord camp, the first being sophisticated, the latter working class.
@dutchbeeblebrox I think you were in the better camp, though the irony is, The Rolling Stones were probably more middle class than The Beatles (overall).

Look at that handsome chap. Keef wasn't always a scarecrow.

I always find it rather bittersweet listening to this song these days.
