I saw them do this live at the Amsterdam 'Paradiso'. (late seventies). I caught a plectrum they tossed into the audience and played with it all through the eighties...
Went to see Cheap Trick a couple of years back and Rick Nielsen didn't stop throwing plectrums into the crowd. He must have thrown at least 50+. They were awesome.
