They were a really lovely band live. None of their recorded material seems to reflect that, somehow. The quality of this video is poor but evocative - it's also short :)
@kemiladashdot I couldn't . I'd never seen girls get their hands on the holy trinity before, electric guitar, bass guitar and drums plus amps. They weren't allowed - they had to stand at the front and look pretty. Even the terrifying Siouxie falls into that category - she's beautiful. Also Annie Lennox with the Tourists and so on. No make up . Frocks and Docs. Heaven :)
@Rocklobster Not immensely surprised, no :) A bit rough round the edges, but basically tuneful. Same here about indietracks, alas. Apart from the daughter :)
@lozarithm It was always said to be the case. I thing St Etienne employed one of the members of Dead Famous People too, another overlooked all women band.

That's really good. I love the " I couldn't believe they were all women..."

You probably won't be surprised to hear that I love this band :-)

Captain Sensible of course married a Dolly Mixture, while the other became an honorary St Etienne tour member. Lovely to hear this.
